A catastrophic detonation at a police station in the Kashmir region under Indian control has resulted in the fatalities of nine people and injuries to thirty-two others, according to authority reports.
The incident happened when a stockpile of seized explosive materials unintentionally detonated during handling procedures.

The explosion took place on Friday night at the Nowgam security post, where explosive materials taken from Faridabad in the northern province of Haryana were being kept briefly.
Regional security director declared that the detonation substances were scheduled for scientific analysis when a "deeply regrettable" incident during handling led to their detonation at approximately 23:20 local time.
Police Statements
Police authorities confirmed that this was an "accidental detonation" and as opposed to a militant action. "Any other speculation regarding the origin of this occurrence is unwarranted," highlighted the law enforcement head during a press briefing.
The law enforcement facility experienced significant harm from the detonation, with adjacent buildings also being impacted by the strong explosion.
Aftermath and Fatalities
Multiple vehicles were "engulfed in flames and transformed into ashen remains, with wreckage spread across the location," according to official reports.
"The intensity of the detonation was so extreme that some human remains were retrieved from nearby houses, approximately 100-200 meters distant the police station," reported an authority informant.
The bulk of the casualties were police officers, along with forensic personnel, two crime scene photographers, and a clothing professional who was present with the personnel.
