The Streaming Platform is Developing a Popular Game TV Show from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed title that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for delighting in chaos and insanity with equal glee, all while telling captivating, politically driven stories. No wonder then that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two visionaries whose creations have represented all of those qualities.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' structure by having a new backdrop and cast of characters in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series under their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we do not know what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And along the way, my FX family continues to lift me up with their constant belief and backing.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone show. Every instalment is a interpretation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the core of society through this intricate and chaotic viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to partner with Rob and introduce our mutual irreverent, ambitious approach to the television.”

A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
