The Reform UK leader Accuses Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike shortly after a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede dismissed the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks suggested the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I will follow through.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to every interested learner.”
