Emerging athlete preparing for major tournament

The rising star has impressive social media presence

Kai Trump can count on plenty of prominent cheerleaders as she makes her LPGA debut on Thursday.

This teenage golfer, who is related to a former US president, received a tournament invitation to play at the Annika competition in Florida.

The former president, a passionate golfer, owns several courses worldwide and regularly competes against his granddaughter.

"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we have some close matches," she stated.

Kai explained that Trump, unable to come, counseled her: "Simply avoid anxiety."

"My grandpa basically told me to compete and enjoy myself," she explained.

"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's occupied with running the country, so he's rather occupied."

As an amateur, the golfer has competed in only three events this year and holds position 461 in AJGA listings.

However she can get advice from golf legend, who is dating Kai's mother.

"He is the top athlete in the world," the young golfer said.

"Additionally, he's a superior human being. He advised me to go out there, enjoy myself, adapting to the flow."

The golfer will compete against several the biggest names in women's golf at the Annika, such as world number two the champion, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.

The LPGA stated that her participation helps introduce golf to wider groups, especially among youth audiences.

Kai has substantial online presence and recently launched a personal clothing and lifestyle label.

The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
