Salah Offers Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the uproar from his televised remarks.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a vital match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the team's response was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
Jones also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I understand there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the initial controversy. Jones believes the outburst were not designed to destabilise the squad.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a desire to win,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and on a positive run.”
