Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features live text of Sunday's games on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available on designated networks covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the football calendar and following last week's discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games was the number of penalties each committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times meaning they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this weekend.

However it proved positive to see how Denver quarterback the rookie was able to have the shortfall and then lead three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory by four points.

Denver have the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They rank first in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, yet the Broncos won that contest.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers instead they might position two LBs in the interior then withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, we said during a show how the Broncos could be the current year's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year strongly then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has excelled significantly while new RB JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He now ranks fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows that the Broncos are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in positive situations.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to throw anywhere, however they lack in the same way as Nix. He boasts exceptional arm talent, a unique trait, and he's so athletic.

His assets include his movement, being able to pass on the run, and using different arm angles to make throws as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and is very decisive.

When you consistently rush it eats up time and makes the defence to be on the field extended periods, and when you have a mobile QB the defence has to defend the field vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. He can really build something up the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton owns a championship and has surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success the Broncos are experiencing offensively is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps make him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're working better than most, which is a good place to hold their division. All they need is to continue this trajectory.

They excel at leaning into their forte, which is running the ball, and that's exactly what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Ever since the league started recording takeaways decades ago, this team are the first team to go without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising considering that their new coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
