Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
One senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
